This was a view that I took when we were travelling from Jasper down to Banff on a lovely bright sunny day. The road itself is known as the Icefield Parkway and there are some amazing views along here. You can spot anything from wildlife like bears, moose, elk etc to glaciers and amazing coloured lakes.
I pulled in when I saw this image – my first shot was of the lake off to the right of the shot – and then I stepped in the middle of the road and got this image. Obviously I waited till all the cars were gone and there was nothing coming and got down low for a different point of view and took the shot. I like the way the road stretches off into the distance and the cloud formation was nice on the day.
Again due to the lack of cloud cover over in Canada at that time of the year, I was using a circular polariser to get the most out of the sky when taking landscape shots.
